the wallet is beautifully crafted but I was disappointed that the color was way darker than online. It looks more black than that gorgeous green which initially caught my attention.

First and foremost, we are so glad that you appreciate the fine craftsmanship of the piece. However, we sincerely regret that the color did not meet your expectations upon arrival. We completely understand how disappointing it can be to anticipate that vibrant green tone shown online, only to receive a piece that appears much darker in person.

Our Japanese Cordovan is slowly colored using a traditional aniline-dyeing method (mizusome) without any synthetic topcoat. Because each rare hide absorbs the transparent dyes differently during this artisanal process, there are subtle natural variations in shade from piece to piece, ranging from lighter green tones to deep, rich hues. Under softer indoor lighting, these dark, oil-rich undertones can make the green appear almost black, though its true deep green character reveals itself under direct light.

We hope that as you carry this wallet, its unique depth of color and hand-glazed luster bring you a sense of quiet appreciation over time.
