What is Iron dyeing?

Iron-dyeing is a technique that leverages the reaction between iron ("Tetsu/鉄") and tannin to create rich hues in leather. Inspired by traditional mud-dyeing techniques from Amami Oshima which use a similar process, this method imparts a unique green hue with bluish-brown undertones. Variations in factors such as water quality and tannin type result in subtle color differences, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind.

Enjoy Its Evolving Beauty

Iron-dyed leather matures gracefully, deepening in color and enhancing its natural texture over time. With every use, each piece becomes more distinct, telling a story that is uniquely yours.

Notes:

● Due to the natural dyeing process, subtle color variations may occur between connected parts or across different production batches. Please note that the images are for reference only.
