What is Bengara?

Bengara is a dye derived from iron oxide found in the earth, originating from the Bengal region of India. Used in Japanese crafts for centuries, it has adorned pottery, lacquerware, and even served as a functional paint for homes due to its insect-repellent and preservative properties. Its deep red hues symbolize the ancient colors of the earth and our intrinsic connection to natural materials.

Bengara-Dyed Leather

Our Bengara-dyed leather is crafted from premium hides, tanned with tannins and dyed with red iron oxide. The organic nuances of the dyeing process imports subtle variations, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind.

Enjoy Its Evolving Beauty

Bengara-dyed leather matures gracefully, deepening in its rich red hues and developing a gorgeous, glossy patina. Over time, the leather’s natural textures and unique character emerge, making each piece increasingly personal.

Notes:

● Due to the natural dyeing process, subtle color variations may occur between connected parts or across different production batches. Please note that the images are for reference only.
