The genesis of the Diario Collection traces back to a leather tote series we introduced in 2008. At the time, full-leather totes were not so common—but its clean, minimalist aesthetic, paired with premium materials and the refined techniques born from our randoseru-making heritage, quickly made it a customer favorite.

The name Diario comes from the Italian word for diary, reflecting our hope that each piece becomes a trusted companion—gathering memories and growing more personal with every journey it shares with you.

Diario’s signature is more than minimalism—it’s a thoughtful balance between bold leather panels and subtle, intentional detailing. Expanses of smooth leather are met with fine stitching concentrated at the top, creating contrast between openness and intricacy.

Boxy silhouettes are softened by curved sides and rounded bottoms, bringing a sense of organic elegance. This contrast captures the Japanese sensibility of harmony between structure and softness.

Crafted from our signature Oil Mellow Leather, the Diario pieces feature a richly oiled finish that gives the surface a deep, luminous sheen. The leather is satisfyingly thick, offering durability and a pleasing heft.

A lining-free construction highlights the beauty of the material’s reverse side—revealing subtle dye variations and the suede-like texture of the natural fibers.

Every detail in the Diario collection reflects the precision of our craftspeople. One standout example is how the corners are finished: despite the leather’s natural curves, the edges are polished to a sleek, clean line—offering a poised impression that balances its soft lines.

Vegetable-tanned and finished with multiple layers of oil, the leather ages beautifully—developing a glossy patina and growing softer with time. Each piece becomes increasingly attuned to its owner, evolving into a truly personal item.

The new Diario 2Way Zip Medium Tote stays true to the spirit of the series while responding to modern needs. Sized to fit a 13" laptop, it transitions easily from work to weekend.

It’s also the first Diario bag to feature a secure zip-top closure, paired with an open internal pocket for quick access. The updated strap length improves comfort and versatility, allowing more people to carry with ease.
