Vachetta Milled Leather comes from Italy's most beautiful region, Tuscany. Local tanners make it with traditional tanning techniques that have been used for over a thousand years. The leather is immersed in a mixture of vegetable tannins and neatsfoot oil, and the entire tanning process takes several months to complete. The resulting leather has a natural feel with a smooth, even grain and a strong, dense fiber structure. When the leather is rubbed against itself, it makes a unique sound due to the oil it contains. With use, the color and aroma of the leather will become richer and the surface will develop a natural sheen.
