Careers at Tsuchiya Kaban Global
Tsuchiya Kaban is a heritage leather accessories brand from Japan (est. 1965) that has recently made the bold move to expand into English-speaking markets. In the last 3 years we have successfully launched a webshop in English, as well as social media channels, which have been slowly but steadily gaining traction. This “Global Division” of the brand is a unique team that functions much like a start-up, but sits within the larger brand. This means the Global Division has the autonomy to set our own unique goals and do strategic planning for our region, and has the benefit of having a sophisticated and established product collection and the resources of a large company.
As a brand we tend to lean heavily on the quality of our products, our knowledge of leather and our Japanese heritage. All of our products are made by hand in the Tokyo Atelier by expert craftspeople. The bags are luxury items and priced $600-$2500+ due to the labor and materials it takes to make them, and there are almost never sales or discounts. The founder, for which the company is named, Kunio Tsuchiya, is in his 80s and still active within the company.
