Italian Shrink Leather

Heritage Craft, Distinctive Character
Our Italian Shrink Leather is produced by ILCEA, a historic tannery in Italy belonging to the renowned Vecchia Toscana S.p.A. group, rated Gold by the Leather Working Group (LWG) for its sustainable practices. This premium cowhide—sourced from young cattle under three years old—is chrome-tanned and finished with a semi-aniline process, creating a soft touch and uniform tone that balances natural beauty with lasting durability.
Its signature texture is achieved through heat-shrink milling with moisture and heat, which brings out the leather’s natural grain. Compared with standard shrink leather, it is firmer and more robust, preserving the grain’s depth and giving each piece a refined, enduring presence. With time, it develops an elegant sheen, offering a rewarding patina.
Every hide retains subtle natural marks—slight scars or grain variations—that serve as a testament to its authenticity. Far from flaws, these details are what make each item truly one of a kind.
The Look of Natural Leather
We have chosen to keep natural markings such as scars, wrinkles, veins, and pores on the cowhide to showcase the natural appearance of the leather in our products. This is one of the most distinctive features of our bags. The appearance of the leather will vary depending on the part of the hide and individual differences between animals. Through careful observation, you will uncover your leather product's unique, one-of-a-kind appearance.
