Minerva Liscio

Minerva Liscio

A natural Italian leather that develops a charming patina over time

"Minerva Liscio" leather is made at the famous Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Italy’s Tuscany region by local tanners that follow traditional tanning techniques that have been in use for over a millennium. The raw hide is sourced from the shoulders of French adult cows. It’s tanned using only vegetable tannins, and large quantities of oil, primarily tallow, are added. The tanning process is quite time-intensive. "Liscio" is Italian for "smooth," and the surface of the resulting leather is exactly as the name implies. This smoothness gives people a warm and open feeling. "Minerva Liscio," which comes in natural hues unique to Italy, is a premium leather with a rich texture that develops a charming patina.

The Look of Natural Leather

We have chosen to keep natural markings such as scars, wrinkles, veins, and pores on the cowhide to showcase the natural appearance of the leather in our products. This is one of the most distinctive features of our bags. The appearance of the leather will vary depending on the part of the hide and individual differences between animals. Through careful observation, you will uncover your leather product's unique, one-of-a-kind appearance.
